Introducing “Filiera Italia”, a new association that, for the first time, brings together the agricultural sector and Italy's excellent agri-food industry to protect the entire national agri-food supply chain. The presentation took place recently in Cernobbio during the 2017 edition of the International Forum on Agriculture and Food, organized by Coldiretti, which is among the founding members of “Filiera Italia”, along with Consorzio Casalasco del Pomodoro, Ferrero and Inalca/Cremonini.

The new association is open to other businesses that aim to support and promote Made in Italy from farm to fork, with supply chains that embody the shared values of territorial and national identity, transparency, and sustainability, fostering conscious consumption. “Filiera Italia” also aims to promote knowledge and dissemination of dietary practices based on the principles of the Mediterranean diet, through the combination of all ingredients essential for a healthy, varied, and balanced diet.

Paolo Voltini, President of Consorzio Casalasco del Pomodoro, commented: «We created “Filiera Italia” to best enhance Italian agriculture, from farm to finished product. For years, Casalasco has supported its members at every step of their operations to add value to the authentic Made in Italy products we export worldwide. In this regard, I consider the decision on mandatory labeling of the origin of tomato derivatives to be very positive, finally protecting those companies that operate well and transparently.»
