Casalasco
For people

Casalasco was founded as a cooperative; values such as fairness, transparency and social responsibility are part of our DNA. The value created is equally distributed throughout the supply chain, to protect the rights of the people who work for us at every level of the supply chain. This is why we also look beyond the circle of our direct employees to pay attention to all those who, regardless of the type of contract that binds them to the company, operate on their behalf.

The commitment translated into standards and certifications

This commitment has been translated since 2009 with the certification of all member companies in compliance with the Global G.A.P. standard, which defines good agricultural practices (Good Agricultural Practices) to minimize impacts on the environment and ensure a responsible approach to worker safety and animal welfare.
Since 2020, the standard has been integrated with the additional GRASP (GLOBALG.A.P Risk Assessment on Social Practices) module, focused on social aspects related to the activities of workers in agriculture to assess the risk of incorrect practices.

Memberships, checks and qualification criteria

Casalasco also adheres to the United Nations Global Compact model and to Sedex, one of the largest organizations promoting ethical trade in the world.
In line with these choices, we open our doors to audits by customers according to the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) scheme and we use the same requirements for the qualification of suppliers and partners.

Food bank

The collaboration with the Food Bank is now consolidated in order to promote common values in the fight against poverty and food waste. The Group, depending on its availability, redistributes basic food products with direct, simple and concrete interventions. In recent years, in view of the Christmas holidays, the Casalasco Group has confirmed its support to the Food Bank with an economic donation, which has made it possible to distribute the equivalent of 100,000 meals to people in need through affiliated territorial partner organizations; the initiative started from the desire to combat the economic crisis that many Italian families are experiencing, risking food poverty.

Pomì and Dorì for schools

With the project “The Adventures of Pomì and Dori — The tomato supply chain between sustainability and healthy diet” we have been promoting for years in primary schools all over Italy the knowledge of our supply chain, of tomatoes and the value of healthy lifestyles. An initiative that involved thousands of students, allowing them to bring children closer to the topic of healthy and sustainable nutrition in a playful way.

Sport and inclusion

We support realities and people that promote inclusion, resilience and social growth, such as the Macron Warriors Sabbioneta and the Paralympic athlete Andrea Devicenzi, concrete examples of determination and redemption. At the same time, we contribute to local projects such as the Interflumina EcoOstello, a space dedicated to hospitality, education and sustainability.

Macron Warriors Sabbioneta

We support the Macron Warriors Sabbioneta, the first and only electric wheelchair hockey team — powerchair hockey — that plays in the A1 championship, a reality that promotes Paralympic sport for people with motor disabilities and awareness and social inclusion projects. For us, they represent a great example of sport, courage and determination.

Andrea Devicenzi

Through the Pomi brand, for years we have been at the side of the Casalasco Paralympic athlete Andrea Devicenzi, who through cycling promotes the theme of inclusion and resilience all over the world, spreading the message that it can be possible for anyone to overcome the obstacles that life poses, putting willpower, great determination and the ability to transform their limits into an opportunity for redemption.
