Industrial Tomato: Casalasco signs agreement with A.In.PO. and As.I.P.O.
Price set at 150 Euros per ton
The price for industrial tomatoes was agreed upon in the past few hours between Casalasco and the two largest POs in Northern Italy A.In.PO. and As.I.P.O. which sets the price of industrial tomatoes at 150 Euros per ton.
“Amidst profound uncertainty in the agricultural sector, which, in addition to rising production costs, is already grappling with a severe water crisis - states Casalasco President Paolo Voltini – it was necessary to provide concrete answers”.
“It was now unacceptable – continues As.I.P.O. President Pierluigi Arata - to proceed with transplant activities without a price reference. For too many weeks, months, it was necessary to provide stability and guarantees to a sector that is increasingly strategic for the local economy".
Filippo Arata, President of A.In.PO. concludes by saying "The agreement with Casalasco provides a positive outlook for the sector and, above all, ensures an equitable distribution of value throughout the supply chain".
